Dusk Loop operates on a strict 60-second temporal cycle where every action feeds into a persistent progression system. Each loop begins at twilight hour zero with base resources determined by your permanent upgrade tier. The game calculates resource generation rates every 0.1 seconds, applying multipliers from your unlocked technologies and completed achievements.
The core loop consists of three distinct phases: gathering during seconds 0-20 where base resources accumulate at standard rates, building during seconds 21-45 where construction speed receives a 1.5x multiplier, and defending during seconds 46-60 where threat intensity scales exponentially. Resource overflow from one cycle carries forward as bonus starting capital for the next iteration, creating compound growth mechanics.
Your meta-progression persists across all loops through the Twilight Archive system. Every 10 completed cycles unlock one permanent upgrade slot. Technologies range from 5% resource generation boosts to game-changing mechanics like automated defense systems or time dilation effects that extend specific phases. The prestige layer activates after loop 100, converting accumulated cycle experience into Eternal Fragments used for transcendent upgrades.
Every completed 60-second cycle feeds into permanent meta-upgrades through the Twilight Archive. Unlock technologies that persist across all future loops, from basic 5% efficiency boosts to transformative mechanics like time dilation and automated resource management. Your progress compounds exponentially as each cycle builds on the last.
Master the distinct rhythm of gathering, building, and defending phases within each 60-second window. Gathering phase offers stable resource accumulation, building phase grants 1.5x construction speed multipliers, and defending phase tests your preparation against exponentially scaling threats. Phase timing creates strategic depth in resource allocation.
After reaching loop 100, activate the prestige system to convert accumulated cycle experience into Eternal Fragments. These fragments unlock transcendent upgrades that fundamentally alter game mechanics: extend phase durations, multiply base resource generation by factors up to 10x, or unlock entirely new resource types unavailable in standard loops.
The game continues simulating loops even when closed, calculating resource generation and cycle completions based on your last active configuration. Return to find accumulated Twilight Essence, completed cycles added to your total count, and offline-specific bonuses that reward extended away periods with efficiency multipliers up to 3x normal rates.
Complete specific challenges to unlock permanent gameplay modifiers and new strategic options. Achievements range from speed-running cycles under 45 seconds to accumulating 1 million total resources across all loops. Each achievement grants tangible rewards: new building types, resource conversion ratios, or unique upgrade paths.
Threat intensity during defense phases scales based on your total completed cycles and current upgrade tier. Early loops face minimal threats requiring basic defenses, while advanced loops introduce multi-layered attack patterns demanding strategic tower placement and resource prioritization. Difficulty curves ensure constant challenge without frustration.
